Safely and responsibly making what the world needs while supporting our schools, our community and our economy. It's amazing to see how Energy Goes Far in the Capital City.

We keep the local economy rolling.

  • We pay more than $100 million in total taxes annually and are the largest property taxpayer in Louisiana.
  • Business growth over the last decade has sent more than $1 billion in taxes to local and state government.
  • More than 7,100 employees and contractors work at the Baton Rouge and Port Allen facilities.
We keep the economy rolling.

When projects come,
jobs stay.

  • At the end of 2022, the largest investment for Louisiana in the past decade, the Polypropylene Growth Project, should complete. This project doubles the site’s capacity with a new production line.
  • In 2021, the Baton Rouge Refinery Integrated Competitiveness (BRRIC) investment of more than $300M was announced. This suite will ensure our refinery is positioned to attract more investment, reduce site emissions and better meet the world’s changing energy needs.
  • We have hired more than 400 new hires in Baton Rouge and Port Allen in 2019 and 2020.
When projects come,jobs stay.

When we hire an engineer,
she gets a mentor.

  • Our Women’s Interest Network hosts local students at the Annual Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day each year.
  • ExxonMobil’s $13 million grant to bring the NMSI’s College Readiness Program to 21 Louisiana schools helped increase Advanced Placement® exams taken in Louisiana by 27 percent and 40% demonstrated mastery of college-level material.
  • In 2021, ExxonMobil created an internship for local North Baton Rouge students to explore industry crafts and careers. During the 7-week summer program, interns shadowed craft specialists in machinery, electrical, analyzers and instrumentation to learn, first-hand, what it’s like to work at an ExxonMobil facility.
